ART KAOHSIUNG 2016

ART KAOHSIUNG is launching its seventh edition in 2019. Since 2013, it has been earnestly cultivating the art market of southern Taiwan and the exhibition industry. A new vision for Taiwanese art market has been carved out through its effort of integrating abundant resources among industries, cultural bureaus and academics. ART KAOHSIUNG has encompassed eminent galleries around China, Japan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and the United States, attracting 12,000 visitors and USD 4 million sales amount. The much anticipated ART KAOHSIUNG has become the iconic art fair of southern Taiwan.

Positioned as “the platform of Southeast and Northeast Asian art,” and corresponding with The Go-South Policy of Taiwanese government, ART KAOHSIUNG focuses on art and cultural exchanges and relentlessly contributes to the next art collecting trend.

Seven years of strategic development and careful management, with the vision of Bureau of Cultural Affairs, Kaohsiung City Government, professional experiences of all parties, network resources, Collector Convergence Plan, and cross-over projects, ART KAOHSIUNG will present the progressive strength of southern Taiwan. 福岡初のアートフェア「AFAF」を立ち上げた翌年、2016年でした。
はしだ和義市議がAFAFのこと、台湾高雄の芸術特区のことを、こんなにも前から取り上げてくれているんですね。当時から比べると、現代アートはますます身近になり、昨年よりAFAFは福岡市と共催になりました。さらに、今年はなんとマリンメッセにて開催です。
福岡のアートシーンがどんどん様変わりしていますが、貴重なエポックだと認識しています。
アートに関わっていると「夢」はいくらでも語れます。
その夢を現実に落とし込むにはさまざまな人たちの手を借りなければなりません。
行政や企業など、今ではさまざまな業態や人が興味を示し始めました。そうした中で、これまでも、そしてこれからも「文化・芸術」をサポートしてくれるはしださんの存在は心強いことです。

那是2016年，福冈首个艺术博览会AFAF启动后的第二年。
市议员桥田和义（Kazuyoshi Hashida）对AFAF和台湾高雄的艺术特区进行了长时间的报道。 与当年相比，当代艺术已经变得越来越容易接近，从去年开始，AFAF 与福冈市共同举办。 更重要的是，今年它将在Marine Messe举办。
福冈的艺术界瞬息万变，但我认为这是一个宝贵的时代。
从事艺术创作，可以尽情地谈论 “梦想”。
但要将梦想变为现实，就需要广泛的人的帮助。

It was 2016, the year after we launched Fukuoka’s first art fair, AFAF.
City Councilor Kazuyoshi Hashida has been covering AFAF and the special art zone in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, for such a long time. Compared to back then, contemporary art has become more and more accessible, and since last year AFAF has been co-sponsored by Fukuoka City. And this year, AFAF will be held at Marine Messe.
The art scene in Fukuoka is changing rapidly, and I recognize this as a valuable epoch.
When you are involved in art, you can talk about “dreams” as much as you want.
But in order to make that dream a reality, you need the help of many people.
Nowadays, various types of businesses and people, including governments and companies, have begun to show interest in the project. In such a situation, it is reassuring to know that Mr. Hashida has been and will continue to support “culture and art.

「橋田 和義 さん　当時、西牟田くんと国内、そして台湾や香港などの海外を視察で駆けずり回ってたことが、懐かしいです。福岡の今、現代アートの今を一番感じてもらいたかったです….。彼の思いのためにも頑張らなければいけませんね。
鳥越一輝さんは、おかげさまで昨年台湾にて想像を超える大ブレイク、ビックリするとともにさらなる発展をと、目指しております！
アートを感じるセンスは、きっと人々が求める真の豊かさを掴み取るセンスに繋がるのだと思います。台湾の「芸術特区」なども学び、ぜひ橋田さんが唱える街づくりにも活かすことが出来ればと思います。」

桥田和义：’我对与西牟田先生一起奔波于日本和海外（包括台湾和香港）的那些日子记忆犹新。 我最希望他能感受到福冈和当代艺术的现状。….。 为了他的愿望，我必须尽我所能。
多亏了大家的支持，去年鸟越一树在台湾取得了超乎我们想象的巨大突破，我们的目标是进一步发展！
我相信，对艺术的感悟，一定会让人们把握住所追求的真正的丰富性。 我希望了解台湾的’艺术特区’，并在桥田先生倡导的城市发展中加以利用”。

Kazuyoshi Hashida: “I have fond memories of those days when I was running around with Mr. Nishimuta on tours in Japan and abroad, including Taiwan and Hong Kong. I wanted him to feel the present state of Fukuoka and contemporary art the most. …. I have to do my best for his thoughts.
Thanks to your support, Kazuki Torigoe got a big break beyond our imagination in Taiwan last year, which surprised us and we are aiming for further development!
I believe that a sense of art will surely lead to a sense of grasping the true richness that people are seeking. I hope to learn about Taiwan’s “special zones for the arts” and apply what I have learned to the urban development that Mr. Hashida advocates.”

昨年末に行われた台湾高雄のアートフェア、会場である「City Suits Kaohsiung」にて配布された朝食券。
よくよく見ると。
なんと、僕たちは高雄市から饗されている….。
まだまだ福岡でのART FAIR告知に苦心する中、海外との違いが歴然とする。
少なくともここ高雄では、アート（フェア）やそこに関わる人々、さらに繋がりがいかに重要かを認識しているのであろう。
この温度差が意味することとは？
それでも、福岡にはこの差を縮めるポテンシャルがいっぱいあると勝手に思っている。
2017年は始まったばかり…..。

去年年底，台湾艺术高雄展的早餐门票在高雄市西装会场发放。
我仔细一看。
真没想到，我们被高雄市 ….. 宴请了。
虽然我们还在努力发布亚足联的公告，但与国外的差距显而易见。
至少在高雄，人们知道艺博会、参与艺博会的人以及与艺博会的联系有多么重要。
这种温度上的差异意味着什么呢？
尽管如此，我还是自私地认为，福冈在缩小差距方面大有可为。
2017 年才刚刚开始。…..

I looked closely.
To my surprise, we are feasted by Kaohsiung City …..
While we are still struggling with the AFAF announcement, the difference from overseas is obvious.
At least here in Kaohsiung, people are aware of the importance of the ART FAIR, the people involved in it, and the connections.
What does this difference in temperature mean?
Nevertheless, I selfishly believe that Fukuoka has a lot of potential to close this gap.
